Rockies Sign Daniel Bard To Two-Year Extension

Colorado Rockies closer Daniel Bard has signed a two-year contract extension, the team announced Saturday.

Bard, 37, was the subject of trade rumors ahead of Tuesday's deadline but his deal keeps him with Colorado through 2024.

The hard-throwing righty is 3-3 with 21 saves and a 1.91 ERA in 37 games this season. His 21 saves were fifth in the National League and tied for seventh in the majors entering Saturday.

Jackson Holliday slipped on a Baltimore Orioles jersey, jammed the team's cap over his long, sandy blond hair and grinned broadly as the photographers clicked away.

And boy, did he have reason to smile. The 18-year-old high schooler and No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 MLB amateur draft signed a contract Wednesday with an $8.19 million signing bonus.

Dallas Keuchel Reaches Minor League Deal With Rangers

The Texas Rangers have agreed to a Minor League contract with Dallas Keuchel.

The 34-year-old had stints with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox this season before getting released by both teams.

Keuchel had a 7.88 ERA in eight starts with Chicago prior to being designated for assignment. He then posted a 9.64 ERA in four starts with the Diamondbacks.

Orioles Give No. 1 Pick Jackson Holliday Record Deal

The Baltimore Orioles came to terms with No. 1 pick Jackson Holliday on Thursday, according to a source.

Holliday will receive a record bonus for a high school player.

The deal is worth $8.19 million, just under the slot value for the top pick at $8,846,900. The club has not confirmed the agreement, which is pending a physical.

Right-hander Trevor Rosenthal signed a $4.5 million, one-year contract with the San Francisco Giants on Thursday.

Rosenthal has a chance to pitch in the majors for the first time since 2020. He will be on the injured list with a hamstring strain initially, and manager Gabe Kapler said he's several weeks away from helping the team.
