Dodgers Sign Scott Kazmir To Three-Year Deal

The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed Scott Kazmir to a three-year contract worth a reported $48 million.

The deal also reportedly includes an opt-out after the 2016 season.

Kazmir, 31, was traded to the Houston Astros in July amid his second season with the Oakland Athletics.

The Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to a Minor League contract with Eric Young, Jr.

Young will receive a $1 million salary plus incentives if he makes the big league roster, according to a report.

The 30-year-old spent the 2015 season with the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets, hitting just .153/.217/.247 in 94 Major League plate appearances.

John Jaso Signs With Pirates, Plans Move To First Base

The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed John Jaso to a two-year, $8 million contract.

Jaso, 32, has played mostly in the outfield and at catcher in the past, but the Pirates plan to use him at first base. He has played first in just two Major Leagues games.

"John is enthusiastic about playing in Pittsburgh and developing as a first baseman," Pirates general manager Neal Huntington said. "We feel he has the ability to play the position at the major league level."

Jaso will earn $4 million in each of the next two seasons under the deal. He can make an additional $1 million annually in performance bonuses.

Detwiler, who turns 30 on March 6, was 1-5 with a 7.25 ERA in seven starts and 34 relief appearances for the Texas Rangers and Atlanta Braves in 2015.

The Seattle Mariners have agreed upon a two-year, $10 million deal with Steve Cishek to become their new closer.

Cishek's agreement includes incentives for games finished that could increase his overall payout to $17 million.

Cishek, 29, is 17-20 with a 2.82 ERA in 311 career big-league appearances. He saved 34 and 39 games with the Miami Marlins in 2013 and 2014, respectively.

Cishek joins the recently acquired Joaquin Benoit in a revamped back end of the bullpen for the Mariners.
