The Minnesota Twins have signed Chris Archer to a one-year contract.

The deal is reportedly worth $3.5 million and Archer can earn up to $9.5 million this season with performance bonuses, according to sources.

Archer, 33, made five starts and one relief appearance for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2021, posting a 4.66 ERA in 19 1/3 innings. 

The Seattle Mariners bolstered their bullpen by signing veteran right-hander Sergio Romo to a one-year contract on Thursday.

The deal was finalized following a physical and is for $2 million.

Free-agent right-hander Garrett Richards signed a one-year contract Sunday with the Texas Rangers, who are expected to use the former starter in a role pitching multiple innings out of the bullpen.

The deal guarantees Richards $5.5 million, including his $4.5 million salary this season. The Rangers also hold a $9 million club option for 2023 with a $1 million buyout.

Pitcher Michael Pineda and the Detroit Tigers reached a one-year deal Saturday, the latest move by a team that has been active before and after the 99-day lockout.

Pineda was 9-8 with a 3.62 ERA for the Minnesota Twins last season.

Carlos Correa has agreed to a three-year, $105.3 million deal with the Minnesota Twins. The deal includes opt-outs after the first two seasons.

Correa's average salary becomes baseball's fourth-highest behind Mets pitcher Max Scherzer ($43.3 million), Yankees pitcher Gerrit Cole ($36 million) and Angels outfielder Mike Trout ($35.5 million).

Correa is coming off perhaps his best season, posting a career-best 7.2 WAR, according to baseball-reference.com, which ranked third in the American League. 

The Atlanta Braves signed longtime Los Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen to a one-year, $16 million contract, the team announced Friday.

Jansen, 34, has spent his entire 12-year career in the majors with the Dodgers, helping the franchise win a World Series in 2020.

Former Cy Young pitcher Zack Greinke has signed a one-year deal with the Kansas City Royals, the team announced on Wednesday.

Terms weren't revealed but the contract is worth $13 million, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan, confirming a report by The New York Post.

The Chicago Cubs have agreed to a five-year, $85 million deal with Japanese outfielder Seiya Suzuki, according to a source.

Suzuki met with the Cubs front office and team chairman Tom Ricketts on Monday night.

The contract is the largest for a Japanese position player coming to Major League Baseball and the second largest behind Masahiro Tanaka's $155 million contract with the New York Yankees.

The Philadelphia Phillies have agreed to sign Kyle Schwarber, according to sources.

After being non-tendered by the Chicago Cubs, Schwarber signed with the Washington Nationals before the 2021 season.

The 29-year-old was then traded to the Boston Red Sox at midseason. He hit a combined .266/.374/.554 with 32 home runs in 471 plate appearances.

The Atlanta Braves have added Collin McHugh on a two-year, $10 million deal.

The agreement includes a $6 million club option for 2024 with a $1 million buyout. 

McHugh also agreed to donate 1% of his salary to the Atlanta Braves Foundation.

He pitched in relief in 30 of his 37 games with Tampa Bay last season. He was 6-1 with a 1.55 ERA and one save.
