Julio Teheran has signed with the Staten Island FerryHawks of the Atlantic League.

Teheran, 31, logged just five Major League innings for the Detroit Tigers in 2021, posting a 1.80 ERA and three strikeouts.

He debuted in 2011 at age 20 with the Atlanta Braves.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have avoided arbitration with Bryan Reynolds by agreeing to a two-year deal.

Reynolds will earn $6.75 million in each of the next two seasons.

"I always hoped this would be the outcome and it was the outcome, so I'd say this was a win-win," Reynolds said. "I don't think anybody ever wants to go to a hearing. For me, personally, I love Pittsburgh. I love my teammates and everything like that. To knock it out quickly like we did and to land where we're at, I think it worked out really well."

The Boston Red Sox have signed right-handed reliever Garrett Whitlock to a four-year contract extension, the team announced Sunday.

Whitlock is guaranteed a total of $18.75 million from 2023 to 2026, a source told ESPN. 

Seattle has signed shortstop J.P. Crawford to a new five-year contract, tying a vital member of the ascendant Mariners to the organization through his prime years,

Sources familiar with the deal told ESPN that the contract's total value is $51 million.

"Seattle is a special place for me, and I can't wait to be a part of the team that brings a championship here," Crawford said in a statement. 

The Baltimore Orioles are nearing an agreement on a Minor League deal with Matt Harvey, according to a report.

Harvey would report to extended spring training to build up his arm strength.

The 33-year-old started 28 games for the Orioles last season, posting a 6.27 ERA over 127 innings.

Manuel Margot has reached an agreement on a two-year, $19 million deal with the Tampa Bay Rays.

The deal includes salaries of $7 million in 2023, up from the $5.6 million that Margot is due to earn this season, and $10 million in 2024. It also includes a $12 million mutual option in 2025 or a $2 million buyout.

Margot, 27, would have been eligible for free agency after this season.

The Miami Marlins have agreed to a one-year, $7.5 million deal with Jesus Aguilar.

Aguilar, 31, will receive a $7.3 million salary this season. The deal includes a mutual option for 2023 with a $200,000 buyout.

The first baseman hit 22 home runs with 93 RBI and batted .261 for the Marlins last year.

Johnny Cueto has agreed to a Minor League deal with the Chicago White Sox.

The contract is worth up to $4.2 million, prorated for time spent in the Major Leagues, according to a source.

Cueto, 36, started 21 games for the San Francisco Giants last season and went 7-7 with a 4.08 ERA.

Chicago recently lost starter Lance Lynn for more than a month due to a knee injury.

The Toronto Blue Jays extended manager Charlie Montoyo's contract through the 2023 season on Friday.

Montoyo, 57, has overseen a tumultuous period in Blue Jays history, with the team playing home games in three cities last season, including two minor league parks, because of border restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
