The Chicago White Sox are expected to sign Yoelqui Cespedes to a contract with a bonus near $2 million, according to sources.

Considered the No. 1 international prospect, Yoelgui is the younger half-brother of Yoenis Cespedes.

Cespedes, 23, who was declared a free agent and eligible to sign with a Major League team March 18, will likely ink his deal on Jan. 15, 2021, the first day of the international signing period.

New Philadelphia Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski announced that the team has promoted Sam Fuld to general manager.

The promotion would be the latest in a front-office overhaul for the Phillies, who reassigned former GM Matt Klentak in October and hired Dombrowski earlier this month.

The San Francisco Giants have signed reliever John Brebbia to a one-year contract.

According to a source, Brebbia will make $800,000 in the 2021 season.

Brebbia, 30, did not pitch last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in June.

The Tampa Bay Rays have signed Michael Wacha to a one-year, $3 million contract.

Wacha went 1-4 with a 6.62 ERA in eight appearances for the New York Mets in 2020.

He spent his first seven seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals and was an All-Star in 2015.

The San Francisco Giants have signed right-handed pitcher Anthony DeSclafani to a one-year contract.

The deal is worth $6 million in salary, according to a source.

Farhan Zaidi says the Giants will look to add another starting pitcher.

"He was an early target for us. We've talked a good amount about looking to add some starting pitching to our roster and take some pressure off some of our younger pitchers," Zaidi said. "DeSclafani is a guy that we think comes with some ceiling. He's got really good stuff, good velocity on the fastball, a lot of characteristics that we look for. Obviously didn't have his best season in 2020 but in 2019 he really had a nice year. That would be a great outcome for us if he can even get back to that level as recently as 2019. We think there's even upside beyond that."

The Tampa Bay Rays are re-signing Mike Zunino on a one-year deal.

The catcher will make $2 million in salary for 2021 and receive a $1 million buyout if the Rays decline his option for 2022. The 2022 club option is worth up to $7 million based on playing time.

Zunino hit .147/.238/.360 with four home runs and 28 RBIs in 28 games last season.

The Boston Red Sox have signed Hunter Renfroe to a one-year contract.

Renfroe was designated by the Tampa Bay Rays last month. He can make up to $600,000 in performance bonuses based on plate appearances. He remains under Red Sox control for three more seasons.

Originally drafted by the Red Sox in 2010 but opting instead to go to Mississippi State, Renfroe was then selected by the San Diego Padres in the first round in 2013.

Brandon Morrow is returning to the Los Angeles Dodgers on a Minor League contract.

Morrow spent the last three seasons with the Chicago Cubs, but was 6-0 with a 2.06 ERA in 45 games for the Dodgers in 2017 after being promoted from Triple-A in the middle of the season.

Los Angeles also signed Jimmy Nelson, Brock Stewart, James Pazos and Carlos Asuaje.

The Texas Rangers have agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal with David Dahl, according to sources.

Dahl, 26, was nontendered by the Colorado Rockies earlier this month.

The outfielder is recovering from right shoulder surgery in September.

Adam Eaton has agreed to a one-year, $7 million deal with the Chicago White Sox.

The pact includes a club option for 2022 at $8.5 million, according to sources.

The White Sox are expected to start Eaton in right field.

Eaton, 32, received a $1.5 million buyout from the Washington Nationals when they declined his $10.5 million option for 2021.
