The Washington Nationals have signed Jordan Weems to a Minor League contract.

The deal includes an invitation to Spring Training for the right-hander.

Weems, 29, made his Major League debut in 2020. He posted a 3.21 ERA over 14 innings with the Oakland Athletics that year.

The Mets have hired Elizabeth Benn as director of major league operations, making her the franchise's highest-ranking female baseball operations employee ever, according to multiple reports.

Benn has worked for Major League Baseball since finishing a master's degree in philosophy at Columbia in 2017. She has had roles in youth programs, labor relations and baseball operations with the league.

Josh Reddick has signed with the Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League.

Reddick spent the past thirteen years in the Major Leagues. It's his first stint in Mexico.

The 35-year-old hit .258/.285/.371 over 158 plate appearances between the Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Mets last season.

The Seattle Mariners have signed Patrick Weigel to a Minor League contract.

The right-hander had elected Minor League free agency at the end of the season after being outrighted off the Milwaukee Brewers' 40-man roster in August.

Weigel, 27, has pitched just 4 2/3 innings in the Major Leagues.

The Boston Red Sox have signed right-hander Tyler Danish to a Minor League contract.

Danish will also be invited to Boston's Major League spring training.

He was a second-round pick of the Chicago White Sox in 2013. Danish posted a 4.85 ERA over 13 innings for the White Sox, pitching in parts of the 2016-18 seasons. 

The Yomiuri Giants of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball have signed Matt Shoemaker.

Shoemaker has pitched in the Major Leagues in each of the last nine seasons.

The 35-year-old had a 8.06 ERA over 60.1 innings with the Minnesota Twins in 2021.

The Washington Nationals have signed Taylor Gushue to a Minor League contract.

Gushue, 28, elected for Minor League free agency after being outrighted off the Chicago Cubs' 40-man roster at the end of last season.

Drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2014, the catcher was traded to the Nationals during the 2016 season and he spent the following few years in Washington.

Pablo Sandoval has signed with the Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League.

Sandoval has appeared in parts of 14 Major League seasons.

He played in 69 games for the Atlanta Braves this past season, hitting .178/.302/.342 with 4 home runs.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed Dan Straily to a Minor League deal.

Straily's deal includes an invitation to Major League spring training.

The right-hander last pitched in the Majors in 2019 when he posted a 9.82 ERA for the Baltimore Orioles over 47 2/3 innings.
