Orioles Promote Gunnar Henderson, Sign Jesus Aguilar

The Baltimore Orioles have promoted top infield prospect Gunnar Henderson to the majors as they continue their push for a postseason spot.

The Orioles selected Henderson's contract Wednesday from Triple-A Norfolk amid a series of moves before their game against the Cleveland Guardians. Baltimore also signed Jesus Aguilar to a minor league deal and added the veteran first baseman to the taxi squad.

Dodgers, Max Muncy Agree Upon One-Year, $13.5M Extension

The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a one-year, $13.5 million contract extension with Max Muncy.

The agreement includes a $10 million club option for 2024 with no buyout.

Muncy's option price can increase by $4 million based on plate appearances next year: $250,000 each for 50, 250, 300 and 350, $500,000 apiece for 400 and 450, and $1 million each for 500 and 550. He would get a one-time assignment bonus of $1 million if traded.

"This place means everything to me. There's not anywhere else that I'd rather play," Muncy, 32, said. "Hopefully, there's more after that."

Former Philadelphia Phillies manager Joe Girardi has joined Marquee Sports Network as a game analyst for the Chicago Cubs, one of his former teams.

Marquee said Wednesday that Girardi will join Jon Sciambi and former big league pitcher Jim Deshaies in the booth for this weekend's series against Milwaukee. He also will work next month's series at Miami.

Braves Sign Michael Harris II To Eight-Year, $72M Extension

The Atlanta Braves have agreed to an eight-year, $72 million contract extension with Michael Harris II.

The deal for Harris, 21, runs through the 2030 season and includes team options for 2031 ($15 million) and 2032 ($20 million).

He's the youngest player in the league, but is hitting  .287 with 12 home runs, 13 steals and 39 RBI in 71 games.

Blue Jays Sign Jackie Bradley Jr. To One-Year Deal

The Toronto Blue Jays signed veteran outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. to a one-year contract before Tuesday night's game at Baltimore.

The 32-year-old Bradley was released by the Boston Red Sox on Thursday. He is batting .210 with three homers and 29 RBIs in 92 games this season.

"Every year is a challenging year. You go through a lot of different things," Bradley said. "Obviously haven't had the offensive year that I've wanted."

The San Diego Padres signed All-Star right-hander Joe Musgrove to a five-year contract extension Monday.

Terms were not disclosed, but according to multiple reports, the deal is worth $100 million. Musgrove is the first pitcher in Padres history to earn a $100 million contract, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.

"Joe has consistently performed at a high level over the last two seasons, throwing the first no-hitter in Padres history and becoming an All-Star," Padres president of baseball operations and general manager A.J. Preller said in a statement.
