Reds, Manager David Bell Agree To Three-Year Extension

The Cincinnati Reds, riding the momentum of a surprisingly exhilarating season, agreed to a three-year extension with manager David Bell on Friday, keeping him at his position through the 2026 season.

Bell, 50, is midway through his fifth year in Cincinnati and the last on his previous contract.

Twins' Walker Jenkins Becomes Final First-Round Pick To Agree To Deal

The Minnesota Twins agreed to a $7,144,200 signing bonus with No. 5 overall pick Walker Jenkins ahead of Tuesday's deadline. He became the final first-round selection to reach a deal.

Only one player chosen in the first 10 rounds failed to reach an agreement by the deadline: UC Irvine outfielder Caden Kendle, selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 10th round with the 305th pick.

The Arizona Diamondbacks spent the most on the draft at $16,185,700, followed by the Atlanta Braves ($15,747,200), Baltimore Orioles ($14,502,400), Boston Red Sox ($14,345,600), Chicago Cubs ($14,255,600), Cincinnati Reds ($13,785,200) and Cleveland Guardians ($13,170,900).

Nationals, Dylan Crews Agree To $9M Signing Bonus

The Washington Nationals and former LSU outfielder Dylan Crews, the No. 2 pick in the 2023 draft, agreed to a signing bonus of about $9 million, according to multiple reports.

That's the second-largest bonus in major league history, behind his LSU teammate and this year's top overall pick, right-hander Paul Skenes, who signed Wednesday with the Pittsburgh Pirates for a record $9.2 million bonus.

Former LSU right-hander Paul Skenes, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 draft, signed a contract that includes a record $9.2 million signing bonus with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday.

Regarded as the best power pitching prospect since Stephen Strasburg, Skenes' deal eclipses the previous rookie record deal between the Detroit Tigers and 2020 No. 1 pick Spencer Torkelson ($8.42 million).

Rangers Give Wyatt Langford $8M Signing Bonus

Fourth overall draft pick Wyatt Langford, the catcher-turned-college outfielder who hit 47 homers at Florida the past two seasons, landed an $8 million signing bonus Tuesday that was the largest ever for a player drafted by the Texas Rangers.

"We think he's the perfect fit for what we're building here," Rangers general manager Chris Young said. "Who he is as a person, his winning pedigree and certainly the talent as a player."

Tepera is likely to take the roster spot of Genesis Cabrera, who was designated for assignment.

The 35-year-old began the season with the Los Angeles Angels, posting a 7.27 ERA in just 8 2/3 innings.

Rangers Sign Matt Bush To Minor League Deal

The Texas Rangers have brought back relief pitcher Matt Bush on a minor league contract after he was released by the Milwaukee Brewers.

Bush, 37, who was 0-2 with a 9.58 ERA with the Brewers this season, played parts of five seasons with Texas (2016-18, 2021-22) before being traded to Milwaukee last August.
