The Miami Marlins have agreed to terms with Jared Pettitte, the son of former Major League pitcher Andy Pettitte, on a deal as an undrafted free agent.

Marlins CEO Derek Jeter and Andy Pettitte were teammates for 15 seasons.

Jared Pettitte pitched for Dallas Baptist University this year and had a 5.81 ERA in 13 games.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed No. 1 overall pick Henry Davis.

"Getting signed right away, it's important to me," Davis said. "I want to get playing. There's no time to waste, really. Making the most of it, getting right to work, I'm pretty happy about how it went."

Davis agreed to a signing bonus of $6.5 million, nearly $2 million below the slot value of $8.4 million. The deal frees Pittsburgh up to spend money on some of its other 20 picks.

The Chicago White Sox and Lance Lynn have agreed to a two-year, $38 million extension. 

Lynn is 9-3 with a 1.99 ERA this season.

Lynn was set to be a free agent in the offseason after joining the White Sox in a trade from the Texas Rangers in December.

"We are thrilled to be able to keep Lance in a White Sox uniform for the next several seasons," White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said in a statement. "He very quickly proved himself to be not only an All-Star caliber addition to the front of our rotation but also the positive clubhouse presence that we envisioned at the time of the acquisition. We look forward to Lance continuing to be a big part of what we're hoping to accomplish not just in 2021 but now beyond."

The Los Angeles Angels have signed Adam Eaton, just a few days after he was unconditionally released by the Chicago White Sox.

Eaton, 32, was in his second stint with the White Sox after signing a one-year, $8 million deal that included a team option for 2022.

The Cleveland Indians have signed Wilson Ramos and assigned the veteran catcher to Triple-A Columbus.

Ramos, 33, spent the first six weeks of the season with the Detroit Tigers. He was released in June after he hit just .200 and went on the injured list twice was lower back issues.
