Braves Sign Travis d'Arnaud To Two-Year, $16M Extension

The Atlanta Braves have signed Travis d'Arnaud to a two-year, $16 million contract extension.

The contract carries exactly the same terms d'Arnaud agreed to prior to the 2020 season.

The catcher is hitting just .223/.277/.369 (66 OPS+) with three homers and 15 RBI during an injury-plagued 2021 season.

David Robertson Signs With Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays have signed David Robertson to a Minor League contract.

Robertson will report to Triple-A Durham. The 36-year-old hasn't thrown a Major League pitch since 2019, but had success as Team USA's closer at the Olympics.

In Robertson's last full season, 2018, he had a 3.23 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 91 strikeouts against 25 unintentional walks in 69 2/3 innings.

Padres Sign Jake Arrieta To Minor League Deal

The San Diego Padres, in need of pitching reinforcements as they try to hang on to their wild-card lead, have signed right-hander Jake Arrieta to a minor league contract.

San Diego manager Jayce Tingler said Arrieta was put on the team's taxi squad after joining the team in Denver for the start of a three-game series.

Mets To Sign Josh Reddick

The New York Mets plan to sign Josh Reddick to a Minor League deal.

Reddick was released by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday.

Because he signed before August 31, Reddick would be eligible for the Mets' postseason roster if New York were to qualify.

Infielder Jonathan Schoop and the Detroit Tigers agreed Saturday to a $15 million, two-year contract covering 2022 and 2023.

Schoop is hitting .289 and has a team-best 64 RBIs. His 18 homers are tied with Eric Haase for the club lead.
