The Orioles are adding Randy Wolf to their pitching staff for the stretch run.

Baltimore has focused on upgrading their staff this month. They acquired Joe Saunders in a trade with the Diamondbacks just a few days ago.

Roger Clemens worked out for the Sugar Land Skeeters on Monday morning and will sign with the team.

Clemens is expected to start on Saturday. He worked out well and threw his fastball around 87 miles per hour.

The Skeeters play in the Atlantic League, which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball.

The Diamondbacks have signed Brett Tomko to a minor-league contract.

Tomko was released by the Reds earlier this month.

The Rockies have signed Luis Castro, 16, for $50,000. The Venezuelan shortstop initially signed with the Blue Jays for $800,000 in July, but the contract was voided due to health concerns.

The Padres have signed Mark Kotsay to a one-year contract that will keep him with the team through the 2013 season. San Diego likes Kotsay's left-handed bat off the bench and his place in the clubhouse. "I enjoy my role here," he said. "Being a part of this club going forward is exciting for me, to have this opportunity and be one of the leaders of the club inside the locker room and to be able to contribute on field still and have some success is something that I enjoy doing. I love the game of baseball, and couldn't be more happy to have this opportunity to do it at home in San Diego." Kotsay is hitting .275 this season with one home run and nine RBIs in 102 at-bats.

The Red Sox traded Scott Podsednik to the D-Backs on July 31, and nine days later, he's back with Boston. The Red Sox signed him to a major league deal on Thursday, according to a Fox Sports report. Podsednik never reported to the D-Backs, who wanted him to play for Triple-A Reno. When he refused, the team granted him free agency.

The Giants have agreed to terms on a deal with Xavier Nady, who was cut released by the Nationals last week. Nady signed a minor league contract with San Francisco and will play with the Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies. Nady is a native of California and played collegiately at Cal.
