The Pirates have signed their 26th round selection, Jimmy Rider, an infielder from Kent State University.
Rider hit .367 (99-for-270) with 27 doubles, five home runs, 32 walks and 53 RBI in 61 regular season games at shortstop for Kent State this past season, leading the team in doubles, runs scored (63), hits, total bases (143), on-base percentage (.435), plate appearances (311), at bats (270), games and extra-base hits (29).

Blue Jays Sign Moyer To Minors Deal
The Blue Jays have signed Jamie Moyer to a minor league contract.
The 49-year-old will report to Triple-A Las Vegas, where he is expected to join the rotation.
D-Backs, Hernandez Reach Two-Year Deal
The Diamondbacks have agreed to terms with David Hernandez on a two-year contract.
The 27-year-old right-hander has been one of the most effective relievers in baseball since joining the Diamondbacks.
He would have been eligible for arbitration after the season.
Hernandez is 0-1 with two saves and a 2.90 ERA this season, with 45 strikeouts in 31 innings over 33 games.
Livan Hernandez Signs With Brewers
The Brewers have signed veteran right-hander Livan Hernandez to a one-year contract, according to an ESPN.com report on Friday.
The Braves designated Hernandez for assignment on June 15 and released him on Monday. He pitched 18 games for the Braves, all out of the bullpen, with a 1-1 record and a 4.94 ERA.
Hernandez is in his 17th major league season and has a career record of 175-177 with a 4.40 ERA.
A's Sign First-Round Pick Addison Russell
The A's have announced the signing of first-round pick Addison Russell of Pace High in Florida.
Russell, a shortstop, signed with the A's instead of accepting a scholarship to Auburn. He hit .358 with eight home runs and 33 RBI for Pace this season.
Baseball America reported that Russell signed for $2.65M.
Giants Sign First-Round Pick Chris Stratton
The Giants have signed right-handed pitcher, Chris Stratton, their first round selection (20th overall) in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, the club announced today.
The, 6-3, 198-pound right-hander from Tupelo, Mississippi is one of 30 semi-finalists for this year's Golden Spikes award as well as a semifinalist for the NCBWA's Dick Howser Trophy. The right-hander lead the Southeastern Conference with 11 wins and a 2.21 ERA.
Rangers Close To Signing First-Round Pick
The Rangers are close to signing first-round pick Lewis Brinson.
Brinson, an outfielder out of Coral Springs High School (FL), has a full scholarship to the University of Florida, but plans to join the Texas organization.
