Stubbs, 31, finished last season with the Rangers after being released by the Colorado Rockies.
He will make $1.5 million if on the Major League roster.

The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to a two-year, $29 million deal with American League MVP Josh Donaldson, according to a report by Sportsnet Canada.
The two sides had been scheduled for an arbitration hearing on Feb. 15.
Donaldson, 30, was acquired by the Blue Jays in a blockbuster trade with the Oakland Athletics in November 2014.
