The Texas Rangers have agreed to sign Cuban third baseman Yanio Perez.

Perez will receive a $1.1 million signing bonus.

The 21-year-old was cleared to sign on May 20 and receives plus grades for his raw power.

The Houston Astros have agreed to sign Cuban left-handed prospect Cionel Perez for a $5.15 million signing bonus.

Perez, 20, was declared a free agent by Major League Baseball just last week after having left Cuba back in May of 2015.

He qualifies as an international amateur, meaning he is subject to international bonus pools. The Astros are already over their $2.197MM pool allotment, so the signing of Perez will come with a 100 percent luxury tax.

The Tampa Bay Rays have signed Alexei Ramirez, who was released recently by the San Diego Padres.

The signing comes a few days after news broke that Matt Duffy would likely undergo season-ending surgery on his Achilles.

Ramirez signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Padres last offseason.

The New York Mets have signed Tim Tebow to a minor league contract.

Sandy Alderson met with team co-owner Jeff Wilpon, who signed off on Alderson's suggestion that they get a deal done.

The instructional league runs from Sept. 18 to Oct. 8.

Tebow, who hasn't played organized baseball since his junior year at Nease High School in Ponte Vedra, Florida, in 2005, has been working out with former big league catcher Chad Moeller in Scottsdale, Arizona, since Memorial Day.

The Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies also had strong interest in Tebow.
