Mariners, Byrnes Agree To Contract
The Mariners have signed veteran outfielder Eric Byrnes to a one-year deal two weeks after he was cut loose by the Diamondbacks.
"Once I talked to Jack [Zduriencik] I knew this was the right fit. It was just a matter of figuring out what other opportunities I had out there," Byrnes said. "Right away I just felt that this was the place I felt like I could contribute."
Byrnes hit .286 with 21 homers and 83 RBIs in 2007 prior to two injury-plagued seasons.
Mets Sign Josh Fogg To Minor League Deal
Josh Fogg has signed a minor-league deal with the Mets.
Fogg will compete for a spot in the New York rotation.
Phillies, Contreras Complete Contract
The Phillies and veteran pitcher Jose Contreras have finalized their one-year, $1.5 million pact.
Contreras, 38, went a combined 6-13 with a 4.92 ERA in 28 games last year with the White Sox and Rockies.
He will be used as mainly a reliever in Philadelphia.
Giambi Signs One-Year Deal With Rockies
Jason Giambi signed a one-year, $1.75 million contract with the Rockies on Thursday.
Giambi will backup Todd Helton at first base and serve as a pinch-hitter.
He hit .292 with two homers and 11 RBIs in 19 games for the Rockies last September.
Rays Sign 2004 First Overall Pick Matt Bush
The Tampa Bay Rays have signed Matt Bush, the former number one overall pick by the Padres in the 2004 MLB Amateur Draft, according to a report from Marc Topkin of the St. Petersburg Times.
Bush will receive a minor league contract.
Bush was drafted as a shortstop but converted to a pitcher.
San Diego traded Bush to Toronto last year, but the Jays eventually released him.
Rockies, Street Finalize Contract
The Rockies and closer Huston Street have finalized a three-year, $22.5 million contract.
The deal could be worth $31 million over four seasons.
"For me, it was going to be hard for me not to sign," Street said. "I won't have to worry about my security and my family's security, at least for the next three years."
Yankees Sign Randy Winn
The New York Yankees have agreed to terms with free agent outfielder Randy Winn on a one-year contract, pending a physical, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.
The contract is worth in the neighborhood of $2 million.
This move effectively will end Johnny Damon's career with the Yankees.
Cubs Agree To Deal With Marshall; Sign Tracy

The Dodgers re-signed reserve catcher Brad Ausmus to a one-year deal on Tuesday.
The contract guarantees Ausmus $1 million.
"Brad provided us with a very strong presence off the bench last season, and his contributions were many, both on and off the field," general manager Ned Colletti said.
Ausmus hit .295 with nine RBIs in 36 games as Russell Martin's backup last season.
