The Athletics have hired Joel Skinner as bench coach and Gerald Perry as hitting coach as part of an overhaul of their coaching staff, according to an ESPN.com report.
The team announced the changes to manager Bob Geren's staff on Wednesday. Skinner replaces Tye Waller, who will be the first-base coach. Waller replaces Todd Steverson.
Lilly Signs $33M Deal With Dodgers
The Dodgers signed left-hander Ted Lilly to a three-year, $33 million on Tuesday.
"I thought this was a really good opportunity for me and the future looks really good," he said.
Lilly received a $3.5 million signing bonus to be paid over three years and the pitcher has a full no-trade clause over the contract's first two years.
Cardinals Bring Back La Russa
The Cardinals have brought back Tony La Russa for a 16th year as manager, according to an Associated Press report.
The team announced the deal Monday and said it includes a mutual option for the 2012 season. Financial terms were not disclosed.
