The Colorado Rockies placed Charlie Blackmon on the injured list Wednesday with a torn meniscus in his left knee.

White Sox Shut Down Tim Anderson For Season

Tim Anderson won't return to the Chicago White Sox this season.

Anderson hasn't played since August 9, when he suffered a tendon injury in his left middle finger that required surgical repair.

The White Sox had hoped Anderson would return, but their fall in the standings has changed that equation.

Anderson, 29, finishes the season with a .301/.339/.395 line.

"I feel like he's going to come back in some way, shape or form, and then we'll see what we've got," Aaron Boone said.

Carpenter has not played since Aug. 8 after breaking his foot on a foul ball.

The Rays' Opening Day starter last year hasn't pitched this season after having the procedure Aug. 4, 2021.

"I think we're pretty confident he'll be starting for us Wednesday," Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash said before Sunday's game with Toronto. "This is the first time he's thrown pain-free in quite some time, so he's encouraged by it."

Sep 25, 2022 12:57 AM

The Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday placed starting pitcher Dustin May on the 15-day injured list with low back tightness, meaning he will not be eligible to pitch again in the regular season.

The Dodgers believe they caught the ailment early enough for May to be available to them in the postseason, and that resting him now will allow him to be back in time for the start of the National League Division Series, ESPN's Alden Gonzalez reported.
