Moyer Won't Rule Out 2012 Return

May 12, 2014 12:45 PM

Jamie Moyer had Tommy John surgery less than a month ago, but he's not ruling out a return to the mound during the 2012 season. Moyer faces a year to 18 months of rehabilitation, meaning he'll be close to 50 when he's healthy enough to pitch again. "In all honesty, I just don't feel like I'm ready to give it up. I feel I'm entitled to make my own decision," Moyer told the Seattle Times. "Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, which people don't seem to be shy about expressing. "I respect and appreciate when it comes from the right people. The baseball people I've talked to before and since the surgery all have been very positive and very supportive."
