Josh Hamilton Leaves With Knee Tendinitis
Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton left Friday's game against the Angels in the seventh inning with a flare-up of right knee tendinitis.
Hamilton said he'll come in for treatment on Saturday and see if the trainers feel like he can get a cortisone shot in the knee.
"It was hurting before everything started [Friday], the batting practice and everything," Hamilton said.
"The pain part doesn't bother me, it's the giving out on me. I don't want to be out there, especially in center field, an important spot in the field, and if I can't go get a ball, we need to put somebody out there who can."
Street Struck By Line Drive During BP
Rockies reliever Huston Street bruised the right side of his abdomen when he was hit by a line drive in batting practice Tuesday.
Street is currently listed as day-to-day. He had to be taken off the field on a stretcher.
Rockies head athletic trainer Keith Dugger said that Street passed out "two or three times" and had ringing in his ears after being struck by the baseball off the bat of Ian Stewart as Street warmed up in right field.
"Right on the pelvis. You could see a black-and-blue mark," Dugger said. "He'd hold his breath when he felt discomfort and pain."
Haren Doesn't Want To Miss Start
Angels starter Dan Haren doesn't want to miss his next scheduled start after taking a line drive off his forearm during his debut on Monday night against the Red Sox.
"The X-rays didn't show anything. They looked pretty clear so it's just a matter of getting the soreness and swelling out of there," Haren said.
"I got out there and threw from about 150-200 feet today and felt pretty good ... so as of now I'd like to think I'll be good to go on Saturday."
The Angels were encouraged by how Haren looked, but they will wait to see how he progresses in the coming days.
Strasburg Scratched From Start At Last Minute
Stephen Strasburg was a late scratch from his highly-anticipated start against Tommy Hanson and the Atlanta Braves.
According to Nationals General Manager Mike Rizzo, Strasburg was having trouble getting loose during his pre-game warmup routine.
"He just didn't feel comfortable with getting loose and preparing to pitch," Rizzo said.
Rizzo appeared on the Braves SportSouth telecast to explain his decision to pull Strasburg, which was announced as fans poured into Nationals Park.
"He didn't want to disappoint his teammates or the fans that came out to see him play," Rizzo said. "But those decisions are taken out of a 22-year old's hands relatively quickly. I felt comfortable with the decision - even though I knew it would be an unpopular one. Thats my job and I felt it was really the only decision that had to be made."
Miguel Batista started in Strasburg's place and was staked an early 3-0 lead against Atlanta.
According to ESPN.com, Strasburg was later listed as day to day with shoulder inflammation after an MRI and X-ray showed no structural damage.

He was removed from the game in favor of a pinch runner, having been hit by the ball on his left hand.

He is expected to play on Monday against the Indians.
Sheets Could Be Done For Season
Athletics right-hander Ben Sheets could miss the remainder of the season after he was placed on the disabled list Saturday.
Sheets said his elbow has swelled far more than usual his past few starts.
"It's possible," he said of missing the rest of the season. "I don't know. I don't like the fact it's so swollen. It's been so up and down the last two weeks, so up and down all year."
Sheets will visit his own orthopedist in Dallas on Tuesday.
He already has been checked by Oakland's doctors, and general manager Billy Beane said the team will wait to disclose a diagnosis until Sheets gets a second opinion.
"We wouldn't want to speculate," Beane said. "We'll have a more definitive diagnosis after that."
