Rays Open To Trading Blake Snell

The Tampa Bay Rays have told other clubs that they're open to the idea of trading Blake Snell, according to multiple sources.

Snell has three years and $39 million remaining on his five-year, $50 million extension. He will earn $10.5 million in 2021, $12.5 million in 2022, and $16 million in 2023.

Happ has also been linked to the Los Angeles Angels, Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers.

The left-hander spent the last two seasons with the New York Yankees, who declined Happ's $17 million option for 2021.

The New York Mets have confirmed that Luis Rojas will return as the club's manager as they continue to search for a general manager.

Rojas was hired after Carlos Beltran was fired in the wake of the Houston Astros' sign-stealing scandal.

New York plans to hire two new executives, a president of baseball operation and a general manager. Sandy Alderson says the club is focused on finding a GM and won't hire a president this winter.

DeMarlo Hale Replaces Brad Mills On Cleveland's Staff

Terry Francona is assembling his staff for the 2021 season and longtime bench coach Brad Mills won't return to the Cleveland Indians.

Francona will replace Mills with DeMarlo Hale. Hale, 59, joins the Indians after spending the past two seasons with the Atlanta Braves.

Hale previously worked on Francona's staff in Boston from 2006 to 2011, serving as bench coach in 2010 and 2011.

Cubs Give Jed Hoyer Five-Year Contract

The Chicago Cubs have given Jed Hoyer a new five-year contract.

The deal runs through the 2025 season. Hoyer was promoted to president of baseball operations when Theo Epstein stepped down last week.

"My family and I believe he is going to be an incredible baseball operations president," Tom Ricketts said in a statement, "and Cubs fans have one of the best in the business leading the team to continue our commitment to sustained success."

White Sox To Host Yankees In Field Of Dreams Game On Aug. 12

The Chicago White Sox will host the New York Yankees in the rescheduled Field of Dreams game in Dyersville, Iowa, on Aug. 12.

Major League Baseball said the plan is tentative, contingent on the status of public health.

The clubs had been scheduled to play at the 8,000-capacity temporary ballpark next to the Field of Dreams movie site last Aug. 13.

Mets Could Consider Renegotiating Jacob deGrom's Contract

The New York Mets could consider renegotiating Jacob deGrom's contract this offseason.

The pitcher signed a five-year, $137.5 million extension entering the 2019 season. deGrom signed the deal with his previous agency, CAA, and it has an opt-out clause after 2022.

The Mets would look to renegotiate and add a few seasons to the deal.

deGrom is owed at least $30.5 million in 2023 and has a $32.5 million team option for 2024.

The Toronto Blue Jays are showing interest in J.A. Happ, according to sources.

Happ has pitched for the Blue Jays on two different occasions in his career.

Since the start of the 2015 season, Happ has a 3.74 ERA in more than 900 innings. He made nine starts with a 3.47 ERA and 1.05 WHIP for the New York Yankees in 2020.

The Los Angeles Angels and Texas Rangers have also been linked to Happ.

Marcell Ozuna has switched agents as he navigates through free agency.

The outfielder has been represented by three different agencies in the last 18 months.

Ozuna has joined CAA Sports. He switched from Scott Boras to MDR Sports Management in May 2019.

The 30-year-old joined the Atlanta Braves on a one-year, $18 million deal last winter.

He hit .338/.431/.636 with 18 home runs in 60 games in 2020.

Wrigley Field Named National Historic Landmark

Wrigley Field has been named a national historic landmark by the United States Department of the Interior.

The Chicago Cubs have played at Wrigley since 1916. It was built in 1914.

"The historical significance of Wrigley Field is interwoven into our nation's story and a key part of what has become America's beloved pastime for over a century," U.S. Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt said in a statement.

"It is with great enthusiasm that I designate this iconic national treasure, the site of many legendary events, innovations and traditions in baseball history, as a National Historic Landmark."
