Aroldis Chapman's suspension for throwing near the head of Mike Brosseau of the Tampa Bay Rays has been reduced from three games to two after he appealed the decision.

Chapman will serve the suspension at the beginning of next season.

The New York Yankees reliever threw a 101 mph fastball near Brosseau's head on his first pitch to the pinch hitter with two outs in the ninth inning of a 5-3 victory over the Rays on Sept. 1. He then appealed the ban.
