The Chicago Cubs have reportedly agreed to terms on a Minor League contract with Carlos Gonzalez.

Gonzalez will report to Triple-A and soon get called up to the Major League club.

The Cleveland Indians recently released Gonzalez after he hit .210/.282/.276 in 30 games.

Looking to replenish their depth, the banged-up New York Mets agreed to minor league contracts Friday with veteran outfielder Matt Kemp and pitcher Ervin Santana.

Each move is pending a successful physical, and both players are expected to report to the club's spring training complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Carter Stewart has agreed to a six-year, $7 million contract with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of the Japanese Pacific League, according to sources.

The Atlanta Braves drafted Stewart with the No. 8 pick in 2018 out of high school. He did not sign after the Braves reduced their signing-bonus offer due to an alleged injury. He was expected to be taken in the early second round in next month's draft.

Stewart is guaranteed significantly more money by signing in Japan. He could theoretically join the Major Leagues as a 25-year-old free agent.

He is represented by Scott Boras.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed Travis d'Arnaud to a one-year contract.

The New York Mets designated d'Arnaud for assignment on April 28 and released him on Friday.

d'Arnaud missed most of last season because of an elbow injury that required Tommy John surgery.
