Nationals Sign Mark Reynolds To Minors Deal

Apr 13, 2018 7:54 AM

Mark Reynolds has signed a minor league deal with the Washington Nationals.

Reynolds, 34, hit .267 with 30 homers, 97 RBIs and 175 strikeouts in 520 at-bats for the Colorado Rockies last season.

He went unsigned this offseason in a historically cold free agent market.

After scoring 5.1 runs per game in 2017, the Nationals are at just 4.2 runs per game this season.

Rockies, Charlie Blackmon Agree To Six-Year Deal

Apr 7, 2018 2:20 AM

The Colorado Rockies and Charlie Blackmon have agree to a new contract that will keep him from testing free agency next offseason.

The six-year deal can top out at $116 million if options are exercised and all incentives are met, according to sources.

Blackmon and the Rockies worked out the deal for most of spring training, but it remained under the radar.

"I didn't want to create distractions," he said.

In January, Blackmon agreed to a one-year, $14 million deal. The new deal pays Blackmon a $2 million signing bonus, a $12 million salary this year and $21 million in each of the next three seasons.

Blackmon has player options of $21 million for 2022 and $10 million for 2023.
