Rockies Re-Sign Carlos Gonzalez To One-Year Deal

Mar 9, 2018 7:25 AM

Carlos Gonzalez will sign a one-year deal to return to the Colorado Rockies.

Gonzalez is the only holdover from Colorado's 2009 postseason run. He had his worst statistical year last season, but finished strong.

He was hitting .215 in mid-July when he tinkered with his swing. That, combined with visiting a sleep specialist to seek solutions to cure insomnia, allowed Gonzalez to hit .325 over August and September.

The Rockies offered Gonzalez a four-year deal that he rejected last spring.
