Carlos Rodon Cleared To Resume Throwing

Carlos Rodon has been cleared to begin a throwing program after he had shoulder surgery in September.

The 25-year-old missed the start of last season with the Chicago White Sox because of shoulder and biceps problems.

It's unclear when he might be ready for games, but Rodon is expected to begin this season on the disabled list.

The New York Mets don't expect Michael Conforto to be ready to return from shoulder surgery until May.

Conforto dislocated his left shoulder while swinging during a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Aug. 24.

Conforto, 24, hit .279 with 27 home runs and 68 RBIs last season -- all career highs.
