Machado may meet with the San Diego Padres soon as they have legitimate interest.

While it remains possible that Corey Kluber will be traded, a deal becomes less likely by the day, according to sources.

Kluber will soon report to his ninth Spring Training with the Cleveland Indians.

He hit .219/.309/.354 with 11 home runs in 347 at-bats for the New York Yankees last season.

The Philadelphia Phillies are bringing Jimmy Rollins back as a special adviser.

Rollins spent 15 seasons with the Phillies, winning the National League MVP in 2007 and helping the club win the World Series in 2008.

He will serve as a spring training coach and work in community outreach programs, among other duties.

The Washington Nationals have hired Jack McKeon as a senior adviser, sources have confirmed.

The 88-year-old's son, Kasey, is the Nationals' director of player procurement.

The elder McKeon managed five franchises, including the Miami Marlins. He had a lifetime 1,051-990 record over 16 seasons.
