The deal includes a vesting option for 2026 that is based on plate appearances, according to The Athletic, which first reported the agreement.
The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to a one-year, $15.5 million contract with veteran pitcher Max Scherzer. Scherzer, 40, is coming off an injury-plagued season with the Texas Rangers, where he made just nine starts and posted a 2-4 record with a 3.95 ERA.
