Athletics Still Open To Extension With Yonder Alonso

With some trade options off the table, the Oakland Athletics have once again reached out to representatives for Yonder Alonso about a contract extension.

The Athletics are in the midst of a rebuild, but could look to Alonso to provide veteran leadership. He could also be an asset long-term if he maintains his current level of production going forward.

Alonso is hitting .273/.373/.556 with 21 home runs in 319 plate appearances this season.
