Francoeur: I'm Headed To Texas
Mets outfielder Jeff Francoeur says he?s been traded to the Rangers, according to an Associated Press report.
The Rangers have been looking for a right-handed hitter to come off the bench for the final month of the season and their expected postseason appearance. The deal had to be completed by Tuesday night in order for Francoeur to be eligible for the playoff roster.
The teams have yet to officially announce the trade, but the strong-armed Francoeur said after a loss to Atlanta that he?s headed to the Rangers.
Harden Moves To Texas Bullpen
Rangers pitcher Rich Harden has agreed to move into the team's bullpen.
Texas will slide Derek Holland into the fifth spot of their starting rotation.
Holland will start for the Rangers on Friday.
Rangers Interested In Francoeur
Jeff Francoeur's time with the Mets might finally be coming to an end.
The Rangers are looking for a right-handed hitting outfielder and are considering Francoeur, according to two sources.
"His name has definitely been talked about," one source said.
Red Sox Trade Delcarmen To Rockies
The Red Sox have traded reliever Manny Delcarmen and cash to the Rockies for Single-A right-hander Chris Balcom-Miller.
Delcarmen was 3-2 with a 4.70 ERA, 32 strikeouts and 28 walks in 48 relief outings for Boston this season.
Colorado had been looking to bolster their bullpen as they try to remain in the NL playoff picture.
Delcarmen has been with Boston since he was drafted in 2000.
Frank McCourt Tried To Keep Dodgers From Wife
An estate-planning attorney has testified that Frank McCourt told her last summer he would not sign a revised agreement that would share the Dodgers with his wife.
Leah Bishop told a judge on Tuesday that she spent months drafting a new version of the postnuptial agreement that gave McCourt sole possession of the team.
In the new agreement, Jamie McCourt would receive several expensive homes.
Manny Not In Starting Lineup
Manny Ramirez joined the White Sox on Tuesday, but he was not in the team's starting lineup against the Indians.
Ramirez showed up at Progressive Field in Cleveland with his dreadlocks intact, but that may change if he plays immediately.
