The New York Yankees have acquired Josh Outman from the Cleveland Indians.

New York added the left-handed specialist for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Outman opened this season as a member of Cleveland's bullpen, but was designated for assignment in June and sent outright to Triple-A Columbus.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have claimed Nolan Reimold off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays.

Reimold, 30, was designated for assignment by the Baltimore Orioles in early July after spending the entire season on the disabled list. The Blue Jays claimed him and he hit just .212/.283/.404 in 60 plate appearances.

The Baltimore Orioles are still looking at potential moves as Sunday's deadline to add players who can be eligible for the postseason looms.

"We've been active. We are keeping active," Dan Duquette said. "It's just, this time of the year, it's a very limited pool of players that you can add externally to your ballclub. Probably the best resource is in the minors, the minor leagues."

The Orioles added Michael Morse in a trade with the Seattle Mariners last Aug. 30.

The Kansas City Royals have claimed Jayson Nix off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Nix hit .133 in 34 games this season with the Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies.

Kansas City will have to make a corresponding move to add Nix to the 25-man roster when he reports.

The Cincinnati Reds have placed Mat Latos and Mike Leake on revocable waivers.

The Reds, however, are unlikely to trade either pitcher. Cincinnati might move a starter before the start of the 2015 season.

The New York Mets have some options for Bartolo Colon if they want to trade him prior to Sunday's waiver deadline.

Colon has a 3.82 ERA and 5.91 strikeout-to-walk ratio this season, something that could attract contenders.

The Mets reportedly placed Colon on waivers this past weekend, opening the door for a potential move.

The Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland Athletics and Pittsburgh Pirates could all be potential landing spots for the veteran right-hander.

Yunel Escobar doesn't want to play for the Oakland Athletics, who claimed him on revocable waivers over the weekend.

The Tampa Bay Rays have until Tuesday to work out an unlikely deal with the Athletics for the veteran shortstop.

"I am very concerned with Yunel having been selected on waivers by Oakland," Escobar's agent, Alex Esteban, said. "While I believe Oakland is an excellent organization, I don't feel that it is the best organization for him."

Escobar, who is making $5 million this season, signed an extension for $13 million a year in 2015 and 2016.

The Oakland Athletics have claimed Yunel Escobar on revocable waivers.

The Tampa Bay Rays will have until Tuesday afternoon to work out a trade with the Athletics.

The New York Mets have not yet placed Bartolo Colon on revocable waivers, according to sources.

Colon, who would be a fit for the Los Angeles Angels in the wake of Garrett Richards' knee injury, would have to get through every other club to make a trade feasible.

The veteran right-hander is due $11 million in 2015.

Yu Darvish, Adrian Beltre, Shin-Soo Choo and Elvis Andrus have cleared waivers, according to a source.

The Texas Rangers, who are 48-76 this season, can now trade any of the four players.

The players carry large contracts, which could complicate any potential trades.
