The Washington Nationals continue to have interest in Matt Wieters if he lowers his asking price.

Washington isn't heavily pursuing Wieters currently because they want the catcher to lower his demands in terms of both years and dollars.

Coming off a season in which he set the AL record for home runs by a second baseman, Brian Dozier has been the center of trade talks since the Winter Meetings. The Dodgers have been in talks with the Twins to try and acquire his services, but Darren Wolfson of 5 Eyewitness News in Minnesota reports Los Angeles is not alone.

The Cardinals have joined the Dodgers as a team that is "very much" in the running to land Dozier, according to Wolfson, who added the Nationals and Giants also "remain in dialogue" with the Twins.

The Los Angeles Angels have agreed with outfielder Ben Revere on a one-year deal worth $4 million, a source told ESPN's Buster Olney.

There is heavy speculation that the Washington Nationals will sign Matt Wieters.

The Nationals acquired Derek Norris in a trade with the San Diego Padres, but it was noted at the time that they could flip Norris if Wieters is eventually signed.

Washington Nationals star Bryce Harper has married his longtime girlfriend, according to a post on his Instagram page.

Harper and his wife, Kayla Varner, were married at the San Diego Mormon Temple this weekend.

Kenley Jansen and the Dodgers have agreed to a five-year, $80 million deal, a Dodgers source confirmed to ESPN's Jim Bowden on Monday.

Jansen had a trio of teams chasing him as finalists for his services: the Nationals, Marlins and Dodgers. League sources told Bowden that Jansen had better offers from both the Nationals and Marlins but wanted to stay home and was willing to take less to do it.

Stephen Strasburg said relying too much on his new slider put stress on his pitching arm and contributed to the injury problems that sidelined him during the second half of last season and the playoffs.

"I fell in love with it," the Nationals right-hander said Sunday at the team's annual fan festival, "because it was working, especially the first half. I mean, it was a quick out."

The Angels acquired middle infielder Danny Espinosa from the Nationals for two minor league pitchers Saturday night.

The Angels sent right-handers Austin Adams and Kyle McGowin to the Nationals for Espinosa, who presumably lost his starting job when Washington obtained outfielder Adam Eaton from the White Sox on Wednesday -- a move that means NL Rookie of the Year runner-up Trea Turner will go from from center field back to his natural position at shortstop.

The Washington Nationals acquired outfielder Adam Eaton from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for three pitchers Wednesday.

In return for Eaton, the Nationals sent right-handed pitchers Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez and Dane Dunning to Chicago.

Chris Sale was the only starting pitcher the Washington Nationals were interested in and they won't pursue any other rotation options, according to a report.

It was reported on Tuesday that Washington may now target Jose Quintana of the Chicago White Sox.
