Oct 8, 2020 8:31 AM

Dick Williams has resigned as president of baseball operations for the Cincinnati Reds after nearly 15 years with the club.

Nick Krall will remain in his current role as Cincinnati's vice president and general manager.

Williams cited spending time with his family as one of the primary reasons for his resignation.

"I don't expect everyone to understand my choice, but my situation is unique," Williams said. "I have a family business -- other than the Reds -- that also means a lot to me. I have four young kids that I need to spend more time with. I have had an exhilarating 15 years, and we have given our teams some great opportunities to win it all."
