The Philadelphia Phillies have officially signed Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez more than a month after reportedly agreeing to terms on a deal.

It was previously reported that Gonzalez would receive a six-year, $48 million deal, but the official terms are $12 million over three seasons. The deal also includes an undisclosed signing bonus and performance incentives.

The initial agreement reportedly broke down over concerns about Gonzalez's elbow.

The Kansas City Royals have agreed to terms on a minor league deal with Carlos Pena.

Pena will be assigned to Triple-A Omaha.

The veteran hit .209/.324/.350 in 325 plate appearances for the Houston Astros this season.

Seven years after the Mets lost out on the posting bidding for Daisuke Matsuzaka, the Japanese right-hander has became a member of the organization, according to an ESPN.com report. 

Matsuzaka signed a deal with the Mets, the team confirmed Thursday. He will start Friday against the Tigers.

The Rays on Thursday made two moves to solidify their outfield and give them a boost in the push for a spot in the playoffs.

They brought back Delmon Young, signing the right fielder to a minor league deal. Young will report to their Double-A affiliate in Montgomery, Ala.

The Rays also have claimed former Cubs outfielder David DeJesus off waivers from the Nationals, a source told ESPNChicago.com. 

The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed Kyle Farnsworth to a minor league contract.

Pittsburgh assigned him to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Farnsworth, 37, was 2-0 with a 5.76 ERA in 39 relief appearances with the Tampa Bay Rays this season before being designated for assignment and released Aug. 9.

The Philadelphia Phillies moved quickly to sign Dominican third baseman Luis Encarnacion.

Encarnacion became eligible to sign at midnight when he turned 16 and the Phillies quickly signed him to a $1 million contract.

Enarnacion is one of the top hitters in Latin America.

The Cleveland Indians have signed Ryan Raburn to a two-year contract extension with an option for the 2016 season.

Cleveland signed Raburn to a Minor League contract with an invite to Spring Training in January.

In 184 at-bats, Raburn has logged a .277 average, a .935 OPS and has clubbed 13 homers, which ranks third on the team.

The San Francisco Giants are close to signing Ted Lilly.

Lilly will start for Triple-A Fresno this week and expects to join the Major League club by the end of the month.

The left-hander was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers over the weekend after being designated for assignment on July 25

The Los Angeles Angels have signed Dontrelle Willis to a minor league contract.

He will report to Triple-A Salt Lake City.

The San Diego Padres have signed Ronny Cedeno to a minor league contract as insurance with shortstop Everth Cabrera facing a 50-game suspension by Major League Baseball as part of its investigation of the Biogenesis drug clinic.

"He was signed for that possibility, yes," general manager Josh Byrnes said.

Cedeno was scheduled to be in the lineup for Double-A Lake Elsinore on Saturday night.
