Ryan Pressly: Astros Are 'Built To Win Championships'

Aug 31, 2023 6:20 AM

The Houston Astros won their fifth-straight game with Wednesday's victory over the Boston Red Sox.

During the surge they have a franchise-record 78 hits and remain tied atop the American League West standings. They also swept the Red Sox at Fenway Park for the first time in franchise history.

"We've been there and done that for a long time -- the past seven years," said closer Ryan Pressly. "I think this is kind of when we turn it on. This team, we're built to win championships and to go deep in the playoffs. We know what it takes to get there and we've just got to string good innings and good at-bats together, and just keep doing what we're doing right now and things will take off."

Braves Set New Franchise Single-Season Home Run Record

Aug 31, 2023 6:13 AM

With 30 games remaining, the Atlanta Braves have already set a new franchise mark for single-season home runs.

Orlando Arcia drew the honor of hitting the record-setting 250th home run in the sixth inning of the Braves' 7-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night at Coors Field.

Atlanta has 40 more homers than any other club.

They are on pace to hit 306 home runs, which would be one short of the Major League record set by the 2019 Minnesota Twins.
