A's Relocation Plan Makes Progress

May 17, 2024 8:22 AM

The Athletics' relocation plan took a couple steps forward this week.

On Monday, the Nevada Supreme Court upheld a November 2023 lower court ruling that stopped a petition to put public funding for the stadium up for a vote this year.

A Nevada teachers union had sought a referendum during this November's elections on the $380 million earmarked by the county and state for construction of the Vegas stadium.

May 10, 2024 9:40 AM

The Oakland Athletics have received trade calls about closer Mason Miller, according to a report.

They haven't gotten deep in talks with a suitor, but the A's are at least broadly open to discussions.

Miller, 25, has a 1.10 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 16.1 innings this season.
