The Chicago Cubs have acquired outfielder Nicholas Castellanos from the Detroit Tigers.

The Tigers received right-handed pitching prospects Alex Lange and Paul Richan in the deal.

The Chicago Cubs have traded catcher Martin Maldonado to the Houston Astros for utility man Tony Kemp, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

It's the second straight season that Houston has acquired Maldonado, 32, at the trade deadline, picking him up from the Angels last year. Maldonado became a free agent after the season.

The Chicago Cubs are finalizing a trade for Toronto Blue Jays right-hander David Phelps, a source told ESPN's Jesse Rogers.

The source said Toronto will receive minor league pitcher Thomas Hatch in return.

The Cubs, in the market for a left-handed reliever, acquired Derek Holland from the Giants for cash, it was announced Friday.

"He's throwing the ball really, really well against lefties," team president Theo Epstein said of Holland on Friday afternoon. "It's been a long track record of success against lefties. ... We have a chance to target his role where he's matching up against lefties. Put him in a position to succeed."

Yu Darvish finally earned his first victory at Wrigley Field as a member of the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday.

It took the right-hander 14 home starts across two seasons and 17 months.

"It's amazing," Darvish said. "First win at Wrigley. I was always looking for that first win."

The Cubs bested the Cincinnati Reds 5-2.

Darvish signed a six-year, $126 million deal with the Cubs in February 2018.
