Nov 22, 2014 12:45 PM

The Red Sox are working hard to sign their 22nd round pick, high school outfielder Ryan Boldt.

Boldt was viewed as a potential first-rounder before he tore the meniscus in his right knee after playing just one game.

While Boldt said the day after being drafted that he intended to honor his scholarship commitment to Nebraska, the Red Sox have maintained open dialogue with him.

According to industry sources, the team hosted him for a visit to Boston and Fenway Park on Friday.
