The Chicago Cubs, who have the No. 2 overall pick, are trying to narrow their options for June's amateur draft.

The front office recently met with Georgia-area prospects Clint Frazier and Austin Meadows.

"We are narrowing it down," general manager Jed Hoyer said.

"During this homestand we'll have mid-point meetings for the scouting season and go over it. We haven't narrowed it down to hitter vs. pitcher yet. We've narrowed it down to a group. We'll meet next week and decide if that group is big enough (or) if we need to include more players in that group."
