Bickford's pre-draft asking price was $4.25 million.

The Cubs are very close to signing Kris Bryant, the No. 2 overall pick in last month's Major League Baseball draft.

Bryant is expected to receive the biggest bonus under the new system that began last year, topping No. 1 overall pick Mark Appel's $6.35 million deal with the Astros.

The Padres have signed Mississippi State outfielder Hunter Renfroe, their first-round pick last month.

He was the No. 13 overall selection.

Renfroe hit .345 this past season for Mississippi State and had 16 home runs and 65 RBIs in 66 games. His team finished second in the College World Series, losing to UCLA in the finals.

The Yankees are still working towards signing the last of their three first round picks, Fresno State outfielder Aaron Judge.

Judge has yet to accept New York's full slot offer of $1.67 million.

The Yankees are currently $311,900 under budget, so they could presumably increase its offer to Judge.
