MLB Seeks Suspensions Against Braun, A-Rod, Others

Sep 15, 2014 7:05 PM

Major League Baseball will seek suspensions for approximately 20 players connected to the Miami clinic that is under investigation for performance enhancing drugs.

Alex Rodriguez and Ryan Braun are amongst the players that will be suspended.

Tony Bosch, founder of the now-shuttered Biogenesis of America, reached an agreement this week to cooperate with MLB's investigation, according to two sources.

Investigators have had records naming about 20 players for more than a month, but needed a sworn statement from Bosch to verify the documents.

Braun and Rodriguez could receive 100-game suspensions as a second doping offense.

Melky Cabrera, Gio Gonzalez, Jesus Montero, Nelson Cruz and Jhonny Peralta are amongst the other 20 players who could receive suspensions.

Gonzalez could be exonerated as two sources said the only substances he received from the clinic were legal.
