The Miami Marlins have assembled their bullpen on talent and availability, which may lead them to open the 2017 season with an entirely right-handed bullpen.

Jansen had a trio of teams chasing him as finalists for his services: the Nationals, Marlins and Dodgers. League sources told Bowden that Jansen had better offers from both the Nationals and Marlins but wanted to stay home and was willing to take less to do it.

A person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press that the Diamondbacks and catcher Jeff Mathis have agreed on a two-year, $4 million contract.
The person said the deal was pending a physical and asked not to be identified Saturday because the move had not been officially announced.
