The Mariners are willing to trade Brandon League and the club has received interest from the White Sox, Dodgers, Giants and "more than a handful of other clubs," according to sources. League is headed for free agency this winter.

The White Sox aren't sure when Chris Sale will make his next start as he battles fatigue. "I'd say it's probably fatigue and he's just tired," manager Robin Ventura said. "There's no pain or anything in there. We'll see how it sits in Minnesota and how he feels. Nothing's changed in how we treat him, we're just trying to take care of him." On Saturday, Chicago acquired Francisco Liriano from Minnesota. Sale downplayed the significance of missing his next start. "It's fine," he said. "It hurts a little bit. Just taking some time off right now, but everything's fine."

The White Sox have made a move to stay on top of the AL Central Division, acquiring left-hander Francisco Liriano from the Twins on Saturday night, according to an Associated Press report. The Twins will receive infielder Eduardo Escobar and lefty prospect Pedro Hernandez.

Speaking on a panel discussion about baseball in Israel, White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf was asked by a fan about the possibility of international expansion. He said he'd rather see two teams contracted. "I don't see any baseball expansion right now," he said. "If it were up to me, I would contract two teams. But I certainly don't think expansion on the horizon."

The White Sox badly want to acquire Zack Greinke from the Brewers, according to a source. Greinke has a 3.44 ERA this season.

The White Sox have acquired Brett Myers from the Astros, according to a source. Houston will receive right-hander Matt Heidenreich, left-hander Blair Walters and a player to be named.

Red Sox outfielder Cody Ross belted a walk-off three-run homer to beat the White Sox, 3-1, on Thursday night at Fenway Park. It was the third three-run HR for the outfielder in the last two games.

The Tigers, White Sox and Orioles are targeting left-hander Clayton Richard. He is scheduled to take the mound for the Padres on Wednesday.

The White Sox are the latest team to pursue a trade for Zack Greinke, according to a source. Chicago established themselves as the favorite in the AL Central to the surprise of many and they are said to be hoping to make another second big splash on the trade market. They acquired Kevin Youkilis from the Red Sox last month. The Braves, Angels, Rangers, Orioles and others also are expected to chase Greinke.

Kevin Youkilis has refused to respond to Bobby Valentine's latest comments. The White Sox third baseman returns to Fenway Park this week for the first time since Boston dealt him to Chicago last month. This weekend, Valentine held Youkilis responsible for the rift between the two. "I got nothing about any of that stuff," Youkilis said. "I'm over all the Boston thing of this year. There is a lot of great past history, but the focus is on the White Sox."
