Trevor Bauer Suspended By MLB For 324 Games

May 1, 2022 8:12 PM

Trevor Bauer has received a 324-game suspension, which will total two full seasons. Bauer was found to be in violation of the MLB's domestic violence policy.

The suspension is without pay and effective immediately.

Bauer joined the Dodgers in February of 2021 on an inventive short-term contract that would pay him up to $85 million over the course of two seasons, but he didn't pitch beyond June 28 of the first year.

Bauer has been alleged by a then-27-year-old woman that he took consensual rough sex too far, alleging that he choked her unconscious on multiple occasions, repeatedly scratched and punched her throughout her body, sodomized her without consent and left her with injuries that warranted a trip to the emergency room.

Bauer and his attorneys, Jon Fetterolf and Rachel Luba, firmly denied the accusations throughout, calling them "fraudulent" and "baseless" in an initial statement.

Cubs' Keegan Thompson Suspended Three Games

Apr 12, 2022 7:38 AM

Major League Baseball has suspended Keegan Thompson of the Chicago Cubs three games for intentionally throwing at Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Andrew McCutchen during Saturday's game.

Thompson, 27, threw three consecutive inside pitches to McCutchen after a first-pitch strike. The final one hit McCutchen in the hip causing the benches to clear.

"The biggest takeaway for me is you're throwing a slider [cutter] away on the first pitch for a strike," McCutchen said. "What are you trying to do? Are you trying to make me guess, 'Oh you're going to pitch to me now?' Then you're going to try and hit me? That's a little much."

Thompson was seemingly retaliating for several hit batsmen by Milwaukee pitchers. He will begin serving his suspension on Tuesday.

Tim Anderson Has Suspension Reduced On Appeal

Apr 1, 2022 8:22 AM

Tim Anderson will miss the first two games of the regular season after his three-game suspension was reduced on appeal, according to a source.

The suspension stemmed from an incident at the end of the 2021 season.

During a bench clearing incident with the Detroit Tigers in late September, it was determined that Anderson, 28, made contact with umpire Tim Timmons.

Anderson will miss the White Sox games on April 8 and 9 in Detroit against the Tigers.
