Cubs' Zambrano Won't Appeal Suspension

Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano was suspended for six games on Thursday, a day after his tirade during a game against the Pirates. Zambrano said he won?t appeal the penalty, which included a fine. Barring rainouts, he is eligible to return next Thursday and start that night at Atlanta, according to an Associated Press report.

Royals Manager Hillman Suspended One Game

Royals manager Trey Hillman has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his inappropriate actions during the bottom of the eighth inning of his club's game against the Tigers on Monday, May 25th at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement. Hillman is to serve his suspension during Wednesday afternoon's game as the Royals continue to host the Tigers.

D-Backs Minor Leaguer Gets 50-Game Suspension

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Arizona Diamondbacks Minor League infielder Agustin Murillo has received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for Clenbuterol, a performance-enhancing substance, in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. The suspension of Murillo is effective immediately. Murillo is currently a member of Triple-A Reno of the Pacific Coast League.

MLB Suspends Dye For Two Games

White Sox outfielder Jermaine Dye has received a two-game suspension and has been fined an undisclosed amount for his inappropriate actions after being called out on strikes to end the top of the sixth inning during the team's game against the Indians on Wednesday in Cleveland. Unless appealed, Dye's suspension is scheduled to begin tonight, when the White Sox play against the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. If appealed, Dye's suspension will be held in abeyance until the process is completed.

Bradley Has Suspension Reduced

Milton Bradley's suspension was reduced from two games to one by MLB on Thursday, but he's still unhappy. The Chicago outfielder believes that he's a victim of his reputation as a hothead. "It figures," Bradley said. "I never get treated fairly. This is me. This is exactly what I expected. "I'm Milton Bradley, you know what I'm saying? You expect me to be crazy and throw stuff and do whatever." The suspension was from an incident that took place on April 16.

New York Mets manager Jerry Manuel has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his aggressive arguing and inappropriate contact with Umpire Bill Welke during the top of the eighth inning of his club's game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday night at Citi Field. Bob Watson, Vice President of On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement. Manuel will serve his suspension this afternoon, when the Mets host the Pittsburgh Pirates.
