The younger brother of Yoenis Cespedes, Yoelkis Cespedes, has left the Cuban National Team and defected, according to a report.

The national team was participating in an international exhibition series in the independent Canadian American Association when the younger Cespedes defected.

The 21-year-old center fielder is considered a five-tool player.

He is expected to be declared a free agent and is seeking a Major League deal. He'll be subject to baseball's international signing rules.
