The New York Yankees have broken the Major League record for consecutive games with a home run.

DJ LeMahieu hit a leadoff home run against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night to extend the streak.

The Yankees have homered in 28 straight games, breaking the record set by the 2002 Texas Rangers.

"I've heard the players comment on it, and they're very aware of it," Aaron Boone said after the game. "It's impressive to me. It's a tribute to having a lot of really good hitters and guys that could hit for power."

During this streak, 14 Yankees have combined to hit 51 home runs.
