The Mets and R.A. Dickey have made some progress in contract talks over the last 24 hours.

They haven't ruled out a trade, but New York was in the process of increasing their offer to the Cy Young winner on Monday night, according to a source. That offer is for $25 million over three years.

That's a two-year contract extension at about $10 million per season, in addition to the $5 million already owed to Dickey in 2013.

Dickey has been asking for a two-year extension for approximately $26 million, totaling $31 million over three years.
