Contract talks between the Mets and stars R.A. Dickey and David Wright remain very preliminary, according to a source.

The club hasn't discussed years or dollars with either player. Sandy Alderson has remained in touch with representatives for Dickey and Wright, but the sides are "still talking about when to really get talking."

The Mets have both players under club control for 2013, but they have expressed a desire to sign them to long-term deals.
