Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez called the team's loss to the Tigers in Game 5 of the ALDS on Thursdays night "devastating."
New York owes Rodriguez $143 million over six more years. He was 2-for-18 in the postseason and was outplayed by Detroit's third base duo of Brandon Inge and Don Kelly.
Rodriguez, 36, vowed an offseason workout regimen that will be designed to trim down a bit more and become more athletic.
"I have a lot to prove and I am looking forward to the challenge," Rodriguez said. "I am coming back with a vengeance."
