The Brewers could bring right-handed starter Zack Greinke out of the bullpen in Friday night's Game 5 of the NLDS against the Diamondbacks.
Greinke would replace starter Yovani Gallardo if things go badly early on.
Greinke started Game 2 and surrendered eight hits, including three home runs and four runs in five innings. He would be pitching on his normal rest of four days.
"Zack would be available and not just if 'Yo' isn't pitching well," manager Ron Roenicke said.
"Who knows, he could get a line drive back off a leg or something, and he's got to come out. So, Zack will be available (Friday)."
